Update 2.0.5: fixes the problems linked to the new version of the Unity's API, and Store.
The FSC Update Manager (FSC UM) is a tool that simplifies the process to sync and upload your assets with FSC.
It is 100% safe and does not needs your Unity password.
Only your FSC Network Password is necessary.
Basically you only need to drag and drop a file and the rest is done automatically.
FSC UM has been designed by Viqtor and TheWolf.
The program is now totally independant from Unity and is a portable exe for PC only at this time.
FSC UM is having the following features:
- compare all your downloaded assets from the asset store to the current versions from FSC and show you what you can update or what assets that you have and are not yet at FSC.
- Zip the assets and opens FSC on the right page, pre-filling the form so that you only have to drag and drop the zipped file into the correct spot.
- you can change the folder with your Unitys assets manually, change the server if one server is not working, or logout.
- FSC UM will notify when a new version is out so that you can update.
Now the FSC UM is taking in account the upload queue, so if someone else has uploaded the same file and it is waiting approval it will show as "queued"
Note: FSC UM does not require your login/password from the asset store, and does not collect any information whatsoever from your computer.
We do not log, and keep anything in the dB related to you.
3- How to use it?
First login to your FSC Network account with the login page.
Then check the list to see what you have that we dont have.
Finally click on update or create to upload to our network.
Once approved you will receive exclusive credits.
Anon_463 say: About the wrongly listed assets it is mainly because of Unity who changed their ID system and some assets have the same ID as another or does not have any ID at all. About the category it is not a problem since the moderation create the categories automatically, you can upload Unity stuff anywhere they will be re-categorized automatically correctly. Uploading from inside the manager would not be easy to do, we decided to avoid having to deal with uploads, failed uploads, resuming etc... from C#, the browser is way more powerful and simple for doing this.
Anon_1454 say: A few bugs (or missing features i stumbled on / It's a great tool btw). For once some packages will be listed as not found in the fsc database even though they exist, and the server side check as soon as you're going to upload it will figure out its a duplicated, but the manager won't. (this could lead to duplicated uploads and confusion), Also the category wont be choosen correctly for some new uploads. (i also would love to be able to directly upload the package from inside the manager) Otherwise its super useful and quite easy to start with. :) Thanks for developing this
