If you are working on a non-flat terrain you may get stuck in the problem that you cannot `stitch` terrains well, Obviously there are assets for this in the store to stitch terrains together but they will change the terrain heights, another solution is to export heightmaps to a third-party tool so that you can edit them there but this will take ages. Technically what the asset does is simply, it groups the terrain data and act as if they were just one terrain altogether, it then brings you a window which looks same as the default Unity`s Terrain editing interface. More than 200 terrains with 512*512 in size were tested with this asset and the asset worked good, But a high-end PC is needed. Not only this asset is the best solution, but also you can manage terrain detail (or splat) maps, paint all the terrains, set the terrain height to zero with just one click,too. If a project has more than hundreds of terrains, then it is recommended to disable the undo functions in its scripts for better smoother workflow. The undo function - similarly to the unity`s terrain deformation tool - sometimes doesn`t work but it may be related to the Unity rather than the asset. The only downside of this asset is, it cannot paint and manage terrains bigger than a limited brush size, even if you modify the source code to increase its brush size beyond its limit, artifacts will be appeared. Other than that, this asset is a the most useful asset on the market for multiple terrain editing. If you use mesh as terrain instead of Unity`s terrain system, then this asset is not useful. Overall, this asset is not bad and could be very useful for level designers for fast terrain editing.
A needed asset for terrain tweaking. by Anon_238Vote
If you are into terrain scene design, this is a must have. But if you ask me, the better part of this asset is to look into the code and find how the guy is tweaking the terrain, then you would be able to sit, not only re-inventing the wheel but also adding features that you would like to be there, adding your custom brushes and more stuff that the original asset does not contain them. There are very few sources online about how to tweak terrain but these type of assets (right now i am thinking about combining it with erosion brush) can be a gold source for learning and coding your own tools.
